Laserjet Toner and How It Works
What is LaserJet printing? This kind of printing is where a Laserjet toner cartridge, with ink in it, is inserted into a pumping and spraying mechanism that will type ink onto paper. Pretty simple idea, but pretty complicated technology. Over the years, printing has evolved from woodblock printing, to the printing press with movable type, to the current high-speed and high-quality printing devices that we know well. The three main types of printing for offices both home and corporate are laserjet, dot-matrix, and inkjet. Today we will discuss the advantages of laserjet printing.
Many printers in older days of personal computers were very loud, inefficient, and slow. Todays Laserjet printers are none of these. They are usually very fast (although not quite as fast as laser printing), quiet, and get the job done well. The definition of font, detail, and color is often much better with laserjet than with other types of technology. Many people use laserjet printers for family photo printing since they are commonplace for consumers, but are also produce good quality. When you consider the alternative, laserjets also do not need any warm up time they start as you print. Additionally, there are some advantages to ink specialization available to this technology that will help consumers who need such specialization.
However, this kind of printing does have its downsides. For one, laserjet toner is very expensive; for some, prohibitively so. If you require many, many pages of documentation, an alternative might be better to save on ink cartridge costs. Another problem with laserjet cartridges is that they may have a chip that communicates their fullness, which sometimes malfunctions. Also, ink might smear (if aqueous in nature) and the printer nozzle can become jammed with ink crust.
Clearly, a consumer has a lot of options for personal printing. Make sure you know all the ups and downs of printing before you purchase a printer.
